Privacy policy

Who we are. This website is operated by Ian Christopher Matthews, trading as I.C.M (ABN 68 704 488 990, Electrical Contractor Licence No. 1507486), an electrical contracting business based at Lockyer Waters, Queensland. What we collect.

• Quote requests: your name, mobile number, email address (optional), suburb or town, property type, what you need, details of the job, any photos you choose to attach, and how you heard about us.
• Switchpoint enquiries: your name, company, email address, phone number (optional) and what you'd like to improve. Enquiries sent from our online Switchpoint price estimator also include the estimate details you choose. The estimator is hosted by Cloudflare, which runs a spam check (Turnstile) and basic visit statistics on it.
• Calls, emails and messages: the details you give us.
• Jobs we carry out: the information we need to quote, do and record the work, such as the site address, contact details, test results and certificates.
• Website use: our website host's built-in statistics count visits without cookies and without storing your IP address. Our forms use Google reCAPTCHA to block spam, which checks information about your device and browser.

We don't ask for sensitive information, so please don't include it in a form.

Why we collect it. We use your information to respond to your enquiry, prepare quotes, carry out and record electrical work, issue certificates and reports, and keep the job records that a licensed electrical contractor is required to keep. We use Switchpoint enquiry details only to respond about Switchpoint. We use website statistics to understand how the site is used and to improve it.

Who we share it with. We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only where it is needed to do the job, for example with the electricity distributor when connection or metering paperwork is required, with an insurer or property manager when you ask us to, with our accounting and job-management software providers, or where the law requires it.

How we store and protect it. Form submissions are stored by our website host and in our email and job records. We use cloud service providers for our website, email, job management and accounting, and take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold. We keep job records for as long as our licensing, tax and insurance obligations require.

Information sent overseas. Our website host, Webador, is based in the Netherlands, and its published service providers include data storage in Ireland. Google, which provides our spam check, may process information on servers outside Australia. Cloudflare, which hosts our Switchpoint price estimator, may also process information outside Australia. Some of our other cloud providers may also store information outside Australia.

Automated decisions. A person at I.C.M reads every enquiry we receive and decides whether we quote and what we charge. We don't use software to make those decisions.

Switchpoint. This policy covers enquiries about Switchpoint made through this website and our online price estimator (estimate.switchpointgroup.app), which emails your enquiry to us. It doesn't cover information held inside the Switchpoint application.

Cookies. This website doesn't set its own tracking or advertising cookies. Google reCAPTCHA, used on our forms, may use cookies on Google's own domain. You can block cookies in your browser settings.

Access and correction. You can ask us for the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. You can also ask us to delete it, and we will unless we need to keep it, for example job and certificate records we're required to keep. Email admin@icmelectric.com. We may need to confirm your identity first.

Complaints. If you have a concern about how we've handled your personal information, email admin@icmelectric.com or write to us at the address above. We'll acknowledge your complaint within 5 business days, look into it and aim to give you a written response within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy. We may update this policy from time to time. This version was published on 14 October 2026. The previous version (9 September 2026) is available on request.
